Although Instagram has given me some pretty bad dysmorphia lol I must give credit where credit is due, it has allowed me to find the most amazing artists.
First artist I want to introduce you to is @salvjiia otherwise known as Salvia, having followed them for years I have watched them in awe. NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE THE LEVEL OF ARTISTRY. Salvia actually grew up in North Wales super close to me which is crazy.
In an interview for Vice they spoke about gender and dysphoria, this is what they said;
'I have problems with gender dysphoria and this has pushed me to distorting my appearance because it's more comfortable for me to confuse people about my gender than have them see me as male'
This has always been a quote that has stuck with me and has been a feeling I have shared.
Struggling with gender identity and body dysmorphia, distorting people's perceptions of me and my identity has been a great comfort and sense of control for me. Recently I've been exploring these feeling's on my account @facetunedemon on Instagram.
